Be Proud and Stand United as Sabahans

In Sabah, we must unite and maintain our common identity as SABAHANS and be proud to be one. We, Sabahans have every right to be proud of our Sabahans’ identity, language and culture.“The call by the Sabah Mufti to hasten the Malaynization of Muslim natives in Sabah is actually a blessing in disguise and an eye opener for Sabahans that they are being used and used over and over by the federal/Malaya authorities to divide and rule the people of Sabah and maintain the colonial regime of Malaya over Sabah” said Datuk Dr.Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR SABAH in weighing in on the issue of Malaynization of Sabahans.

PRESS STATEMENT   “Show Urgency not Patch-work Solution to Diesel Problem - Jeffrey”

Kota Kinabalu:     “The Federal and Sabah governments must find long-term solutions to the diesel shortage problems in Sabah so that it does not recur again and stop providing piece-meal patch-work solutions” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, in response to the request for an additional 8 million litres of diesel to Sabah’s normal July quota of 74 million litres by the Domestic Trade, Cooperative, and Consumerism Ministry (MDTCC) Sabah office.

First and foremost, the diesel shortage is chronic and crippling may factories and interrupting the daily lives of many Sabahans and may even have jeopardized the lives of some.
Making a request for 8 million additional litres is not acceptable given that the chronic shortage has caused long queues at petrol stations throughout Sabah for days and inconvenienced motorists being turned away at other stations that have run out of diesel.

Mesir : Bila Sekular Tergugat

Tell the Truth or Be Investigated

Kota Kinabalu:     “The Inland Revenue Board should be truthful about the tax revenues collected in Sabah rather than trying to cover up the truth just because Sabah is now claiming its constitutional share of this revenues” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, in response to front-pages stories that only RM4 billion federal tax collection was targeted by the IRB from Sabah in 2013 and not RM40 billion as reported earlier.
The RM40 billion was initially announced by the IRB Sabah and they appear to be back-tracking as if to attempt a cover-up now that Sabah is entitled to two-fifths (40%) of the net revenue collected from Sabah.
The Sabah government must do more and investigate into the matter and not be side-tracked by accepting whatever is being pushed down all the time from Kuala Lumpur.  It is the duty and responsibility of the Sabah government, first and foremost, towards the State and the people of Sabah not the political masters from Malaya.
Just looking at several preliminary figures, there appears to be basis for an amount of more than RM4 billion.   Petronas takes RM17.88 billion from Sabah’s oil and gas.   What about the major oil companies producing oil and gas from Sabah?   Sabah takes about RM1.1 billion in oil palm levies.  Sabah produces about 35% of Malaysia’s crude palm oil output and in 2012 Malaysia’s palm oil export earnings posted a value of RM71.3 billion with RM73 billion targeted for 2013.  Government-linked Sime Darby Berhad has 54,278 hectares of plantations while Felda has some 306,000 acres in Sabah.  Many public listed plantation companies have most of their plantations in Sabah.  Even Yayasan Melaka and Yayasan Selangor have palm oil plantations in Sabah!

Cerita ringkasnya begini :

“Let Sabah Decide on Use of Development Funds - Jeffrey”

Kota Kinabalu: “The Federal government should let Sabah decide on the use of development funds instead of making decisions on extravagant multi-hundreds of million projects in Putrajaya without in-depth knowledge of local conditions and requirements”said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, when asked to comment on the call to channel federal funds to the State government.

The federal government should not play politics with federal funds and try to leverage the decision of award of projects and use of the development funds. These funds belong to the people of Malaysia and the Umno/BN government is merely the government of the day and trustees and custodians of these funds.

“Unite under UBA to Safeguard Borneo Rights - Jeffrey”

Kota Kinabalu: “The people and political parties of Sabah and Sarawak should unite under a single umbrella to safeguard Borneo rights and secure their future under the Federation of Malaysia”said DatukDr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, in response to the various opinions on opposition unity in Sabah.

Ever since the formation of Malaysia in 1963 and the ejection of Singapore from the Federation in 1965, the position of Sabah and Sarawak has been eroded and rights taken away through a series of subtle and not-so-subtle manipulations by the Federation of Malaya and their political leaders in Kuala Lumpur.

“Redelineation Must Restore Sabah Sarawak Constitutional Safeguards - Jeffrey”

Kota Kinabalu: “The redelineation of parliamentary constituencies must take into account and restore constitutional safeguards for Sabah and Sarawak and ensure that federal parliamentary seats for Malaya should not be more than 65% as agreed upon from the outset during the formation of Malaysia”said DatukDr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, when asked to comment on the proposed redelineation exercise to be undertaken by the Election Commission.

The uniqueness of the special position of the Borneo States in the formation of Malaysia has resulted in constitutional safeguards being agreed upon and provided for to ensure the rights of Sabah and Sarawak were not diluted or removed over time by the federal lawmakers from Malaya.

Foremost, the PM need to practise what he says and start implementing his transparency programs by stop “testing the people” by using mouthpieces for feedbacks on the intended GST implementation.

Pencerobohan Lahad Datu Satu Konspirasi Jahat?
